Kelley O’Brien Events scored a major touchdown when we partnered with San Francisco PR firm Spritz to produce the Bay Bridge Lights celebration in honor of Super Bowl 50 coming to the Bay Area. Broadcast live with CBS and the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee as partners, the event marked a monumental moment for the city, bringing together sports, public art, and community on one unforgettable stage.

Created by renowned artist Leo Villareal, The Bay Lights is the world’s largest LED light sculpture, spanning 1.8 miles wide and 500 feet high across the western span of the Bay Bridge. Originally inspired by the bridge’s 75th anniversary, the installation features 25,000 white LED lights displaying a mesmerizing, never-repeating work of public art. On January 30, 2016, the sculpture was permanently gifted to the people of California.

Through Illuminate’s Shine It Forward program, supporters have the opportunity to dedicate a personalized light on the Bay Bridge in honor of a loved one, business, or meaningful cause — and yes, Kelley O’Brien Events proudly has a light shining on the bridge forever.

Illuminate’s mission is to transform communities through monumental public art with civic impact, inspiring generosity, connection, and collaboration on both a local and global scale.
